Tone & Tighten

Everyone seems to dread the word “workout”...and I use to not like it either until I actually needed it!

I grew up very active involved in cheerleading, gymnastics, and track. Once I was out of high school I didn’t “purposefully workout. It wasn’t until after l had my 3rd child that I HAD to start working out. You could say that I have always been a “high stress” type of person, Type-A personality, controlling, and a busy bee. I really didn’t see the need to work out plus I thought I was in good shape for not working.  After I had my 3rd baby I dealt with a lot of stress and anxiety that I had never dealt with before, my body felt like it was going to combust! I had multiple factors going on in my life and it created the perfect storm in my body resulting in ANXIETY! A good friend of mine who is also my massage therapist said you need to go run, swim, and let some steam off! So I listened to him and that day I started swimming in my neighbor’s pool or just running in my neighborhood for 20 minutes. Within a week I could feel a difference after I worked out. I felt lighter and the tension just left my body. And you know if you are a parent, we love our kids but they can bring a lot of stress into our bodies!!!! I gradually added more and more exercise activities and began to LOVE it.
It will be 3 years in June that I started working out and I enjoy it even more now, my body and mind NEED IT! I am not saying it hasn’t been easy and I have had to push myself to workout but the benefits are so worth it!   Alongside of working out, I changed my diet and starting eating cleaner and made a conscious effort about the food I put into my body. “You are what you eat” right?  My life has truly been transformed from exercise and eating clean healthy foods. Not only did I make the change but my family’s eating habits changed too.
I now have begun my journey as a health coach to help inspire other women to change and get healthy from the inside-out!  The journey to getting healthy isn't just about the physical aspect but its about gaining strength mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.  And I hope that I can encourage women to make the change to live a happier, healthier, more joyful life like I did by getting healthier with the foods I ate and by getting active.

Its about finding your BALANCE holistically to be the best women, wife, mother, and friend that you can be!

So I want to encourage any of you that read this to get up and get your body moving and start watching the food that you eat. Food is thy MEDICINE to thy Body! It is only to going to make you feel better and help you live a longer, more prosperous life, and maybe help with that stress you are carrying around in your body and calm your mind.

A few tips on how to get started:
1. Find a support system is the #1 most important thing you can do! Having support, accountability, and motivation from a friend or family member is the KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS! I would love to work with you and be your support system. I lead amazing health and fitness challenge groups and if you are interested in being apart of my support system email me today!
2. Make a PLAN and STICK to it! – If you fail to plan, you will FAIL! It is truly ALL about the PREP. and if you don't plan your workouts in every day and plans your meals for the week you will not have success in get healthy. You have to make it a priority, put yourself first when it comes to your health.
3. Believe in yourself, because you CAN DO IT! Start changing your thoughts! Where the mind goes, the man follows and if you have negativity thinking or actions will also be negative. Stop telling yourself that you hate working out and that healthy food tastes bad. Its a bad habit that needs to be broken and you need to start developing new healthy habits that will change your life. You are disciplined and have self-control. I BELIEVE in you!

  1. Afterburn is one of the best gyms that I have been to. Every equipment is state of the art and clean. Also, there are many trainers who are well qualified and work hard enough to train people to their specific needs.
